Background: Charlie was an outstanding high school player who scored over 2,440 points which ranks him as the second-leading scorer in Berks County history. He was a four-year starter and led the county in scoring each year. Charlie made 308 3-pointers in his career which is still tops in Berks County history as of induction. He was 5th Team All-State his junior year and 2nd Team All-State his senior year. Charlie received the Dr. Richard Kleppinger Award as Berks County’s top senior male player. He attended the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn, he was a four-year letter winner and the starting point guard his senior year. He was a member of two Ivy League Championship teams, one Big 5 Championship team, and recipient of the Big 5 Sportsmanship Award. Charlie was the head basketball coach at Decatur High School and is an assistant coach at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
