Background: Mike was one of the greatest all-around athletes in Governor Mifflin High School history. As a senior, he led Berks County in scoring and was named to the First Team All-County Team. He was voted runner up by the basketball officials for the top player to Dick Graul. His career at Albright College was legendary where he played for Coach Wilbur Renken. He scored 1,405 points at Albright and is currently No. 17 on the school’s All-Time Scoring list. Mike led Albright to back-to-back MAC Championships in 1965 and 1966. He was twice named First Team All-MAC, made back-to-back NCAA All-Tournament teams and was selected to two All-State ‘All College’ Teams. He was honorable mention Small College Basketball All-American. Mike received a unique award from Drexel University in 1966 when he was named their ‘Male Athlete Opponent of the Year’. He was inducted into the Albright College Sports HOF in 1993. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Berks County Chapter in 1992.
