College(s): Muhlenberg College, Temple University

Background: Dick was an outstanding high school player. He was the top scorer on the team and named to the Schuylkill County All-Star team his senior year. He received a basketball scholarship from Muhlenberg College, where he was a three-year starter. Dick played semi-pro with the Schuylkill Haven Black Knights. He was named the head basketball coach at West Reading High School in 1960. In 1961, his team led by Ron Krick won the PIAA Class C championship. He coached the Cowboys for eight years prior to the merger with Wyomissing. Dick coached another 14 years at Wyomissing. During his tenure, the Spartans won three Berks Titles and two District.
