Background: Fred was a starter on Mount Penn’s PIAA Class C championship teams of 1971 and 1972. He led the Mounts to two Berks County finals and to three District 3 championships. He was an All-State pick as a senior and led Berks County in scoring as a junior and senior. He remains the Mounts’ all-time scoring leader with 1,495 points. He went on to have a stellar career at Elizabethtown College where he was a four year starter and named All-MAC three seasons. He led his E-town teams to three MAC playoff appearances while scoring 1,225 points. He is their 7th all-time leading rebounder. He was elected to the Elizabethtown College Hall of Fame in 1998 and is also a member of the Mount Penn High School Hall of Fame.
