Background: Ginny was a pioneer of girls’ basketball in Berks County. She was the first ‘5 on 5’ girls basketball coach at Tulpehocken High School where she coached for five seasons. Ginny was a highly respected Berks County girls basketball official for 13 years where she was annually recognized as the best in the business. Every year, Ginny was given the top rating by the coaches and her fellow officials. She officiated numerous Berks playoff games, championship games, as well as district and state tournament games. Ginny was also an officer and interpreter for the Berks County Girl’s Basketball Officials Chapter while training and mentoring many young basketball officials. She served on the BCIAA Board of Control for 21 years including 18 years as the secretary. She was instrumental in the formation of the 3 Point Goal Organization whose mission is to recognize and support girls basketball in Berks County.
