Background: Harry graduated from Hamburg as its all-time leading scorer and was known for his physical scoring and rebounding. He received the Jack Flowers Memorial Award as Berks County’s most outstanding senior player. Harry held Hamburg’s scoring record (905) until his son Troy set the record in 1982 (1,643). His son Aaron broke Troy’s record in 1990 (2,012). Harry was an outstanding player in the Reading Social Leagues, where his teams won five consecutive championships. He played on Dietrich’s Dairy and the Exeter Black Knights. Harry coached junior varsity basketball at Hamburg for several years as well.
