Background: Paul was a two-year starter and an outstanding scorer at Wyomissing. He scored 1,285 points. Paul is considered one of the best pure shooters in Berks County history. He averaged 27.7 PPG his senior year, which is still a school record. He was named All-Berks first team his senior year. Paul played 4 years at Division I La Salle College (now University). His coach, Lefty Ervin, said “Paul possesses as good a shooting touch and accuracy as you’ll ever see”. He played 53 games and scored 72 career points for La Salle College and was named captain his senior year.
