Background: Tom played basketball at Reading High School. He went on to become one of the most colorful and decorated basketball officials in Berks County history. He officiated for 38 years and was the first Berks official to work a PIAA state championship final in 1977. He worked countless title games for District 3 and the Berks Conference as well as the Central Penn, Ches-Mont, East-Penn, Lancaster-Lebanon and Philadelphia Suburban Catholic leagues. He was inducted into Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Berks County Chapter in 1988. Tom was president, vice president, and director of CBOA. He played in rec leagues and the Exeter Black Knights after high school. He was inducted into the Berks County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.
