Background: Tony was a two-year starter and an outstanding point guard for Reading High. His Reading High coach, Jim Gano, ranks him as one of the best guards he coached. He was selected All-Berks first team, All-City first team, All-Central Penn second team and received the Jack Flowers Memorial Award as Berks County’s most outstanding senior player. Tony played two years at Wesley Junior College and two years at Kutztown State College (now University). At Kutztown, he played in 36 games and scored 222 points (6.2 PPG). After college, Tony was an outstanding player in the 11th and Pike Summer League for many years.
