Background: Wendy played at Daniel Boone High School where she became the all time scoring leader in Berks County history with 2,504 points. She was the first four time All-Berks Selection. She was All- State first team as a senior and second team as a junior. Her Blazer teams went 92-18 and won the Berks title in 1988. Wendy received a full basketball scholarship to the University of Connecticut (UConn) where she started all four years playing for legendary Naismith Hall of Fame Coach Geno Auriemma. She was a prolific shooter and ranks third all time in 3-pointers made (279) for the Huskies. She led UConn to their first ever Final Four in 1991 losing 61-55 to top-seeded Virginia in the semifinals. Wendy was the head coach at Division 3 Western New England College from 1999-2005. She was named the league Coach of the Year in her final season. She moved on to become the head coach at Trinity College from 2005-2016. In 2018, Wendy came out of retirement to become the head coach at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. Wendy Davis is overwhelmingly recognized as the greatest female basketball player in Berks County history. She was inducted into the Berks County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
