Background: Wilson Hartranft was an outstanding high school player. He led Womelsdorf High School to the Berks West Title his senior year. Wilson played rec ball while at East Stroudsburg and for Robesonia. He was the head basketball coach at Conrad Weiser from 1966-1971, with an overall record of 90-29. His teams played in three District III finals. In 1970, Conrad Weiser won the Berks County Title. In that same year, Conrad Weiser was the District III Runner-up, when the team suffered its first loss, making their record 25-1. Wilson is a member of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Berks Chapter and the Conrad Weiser Sports Hall of Fame.
