Background: Ron scored 677 points (23.3 PPG) his senior year at Kutztown High School while playing for Coach John Silan. He was named First Team All-Berks County and garnered All-State honorable mention honors. He received a full scholarship to play basketball at Muhlenberg College where he was the leading scorer his junior and senior years. During his senior year he joined the Muhlenberg Select Basketball Circle by scoring more than 400 points while pulling down more than 300 rebounds. For those accomplishments, Ron was named to the Third Team Collegiate All-State Team. While serving in the military, he was MVP for the Southern Area of the German Command. When he returned home, Ron was a perennial leading scorer in the Reading City-County Basketball League. He is a member of the Kutztown High School, Muhlenberg College, and Pennsylvania Sports Halls of Fame Berks County Chapter.
