Background: Terry was a three year varsity starter at Holy Name High School playing for Coach Lloyd Wolf. He was the most valuable player on Holy Name’s legendary 1970 State Championship Team which finished 27-2 and was voted one of the top ten teams in Berks County history by the Reading Eagle newspaper in 2000. He was named First Team All-State in 1970 as well as First Team Philadelphia Suburban Catholic League and All-City in 1969 and 1970. Terry was a 3-year varsity player at St. Francis College. One of his greatest college memories is starting a game his senior year at Notre Dame who was ranked No. 2 in the country. Terry is regarded as one of the greatest players in Holy Name history where he is in their Hall of Fame. He was a 6-3 guard with great ball handling skills who could play any position on the floor. He is the only player in the history of Holy Name to play Division 1 Men’s Basketball. He died at the age of 61 from the debilitating disease Multiple System Atrophy which is similar to ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). The entire Holy Name community mourned.
