Background: Chris graduated from Wilson High School in 1988 as their all-time leading scorer with 1,391 points. He went on to become a two-time All-American at Franklin & Marshall College where he started in 102 victories, most in NCAA Division 3 history. He scored 1,278 points at F&M and was a two time All-MAC performer. After a brief pro career in Great Britain, he turned to coaching and spent 12 seasons as a head coach in Europe while winning six championships. He won coach of the year awards in England, Germany, and Belgium. He was hired by the NBA’s Houston Rockets in 2009 as head coach of their Developmental G League team and was added to Kevin McHale’s Houston staff in 2011. Finch was hired by the Denver Nuggets in August, 2016 as the Associate Head Coach. Finch was later hired by the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans in June, 2017 as the associate head coach under Coach Alvin Gentry. Chris was inducted into the Berks County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2019.
