Background: Dave was an outstanding high school player who scored 1,756 points, which ranks 11th on Berks County’s all-time scoring list. Dave led Muhlenberg to District 3 championship games his junior and senior years and to the PIAA Eastern semifinals his senior year. He was All-Berks County his junior and senior years; Nike All-American in 1989 and was 2nd Team All-State in 1990. Dave received the Dr. Richard Kleppinger Award and he was co-recipient of the Jack Flowers Award. He received a full scholarship to Division I Mount St. Mary’s College. Dave started his freshman year but an injury caused him to miss his sophomore year and later transferred to Kutztown University and finished his collegiate career at Alvernia.
