Background: Jared was a three-year starter at Central with 1,407 points and more than 1,000 rebounds. The Cardinals won Berks County championships his freshman and junior years and lost in the final his senior year. Jared was All-Berks County his junior and senior years. He received the Dr. Richard Kleppinger Award and Jack Flowers Award. Jared played four years at Randolph Macon, scored 1,560 points (eighth in school history) and collected 751 rebounds (also eighth). As a senior in 2002-03, he was named to the coaches All-America first team and was selected the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Year and the ODAC Tournament MVP. He was named the ODAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman and to the all-conference first team the next three seasons. Jared played professionally in Germany, Chile, Denmark, and finished his career with the Reading Railers. He is a 2018 inductee into the Berks Catholic Sports Hall of Fame and will be inducted into the Randolph-Macon Athletic HOF in 2023.
