Background: John was an outstanding high school player at Reading High. He played two years . His senior year, he was a starting forward for the legendary Pete Carril. He averaged 10 PPG. John attended Gettysburg College. He was three-year starting guard and had career averages of 12.1 PPG and 4.3 RPG. John had a long and successful career with G & G and Monarch AC basketball teams that dominated the city and summer leagues for many years. He is a member of the Monarch’s team that was inducted in Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (Berks County Chapter).
