Background: Shawn Swavely was an outstanding high school guard who scored 1,615 points, which is the 19th all-time points scored. During his senior year, Central Catholic won the Berks and District Championships and was the State runner-up, finishing with a 32-1 record. Shawn was the Berks Player of the Year, and he was named to the All-State team. Continuing basketball at Albright, Shawn was a four-year starter, where he was the MAC Rookie of the Year and named to the DIII News All-Freshman team. Shawn was also named MAC All-Conference First Team three times. During his senior year, he was named MAC Player of the Year and selected NABC All-American Second Team. He scored 2,091 points, which is the 2nd all-time highest. He was named to Albright’s All-Century Team. Shawn is a member of the Central Catholic/Holy Name and the Albright Athletic Halls of Fame.
